2008 SCA Football Predictions
By Joboo | August 28, 2008
Two titans look like they’ll battle it out for SCA supremacy this year.
| Team | record | conf record |
| Mountain Grove | 8-2 | 6-0 |
| Cabool | 8-2 | 5-1 |
| Salem | 7-3 | 4-2 |
| MV-BT Liberty | 6-4 | 3-3 |
| Ava | 3-7 | 2-4 |
| Willow Springs | 4-6 | 1-5 |
| Houston | 1-9 | 0-6 |
Mountain Grove should be the class of the SCA this year with senior QB Casey White and a host of other starters returning. I see only the Bolivar game and the trip to Rogersville standing in their way. Cabool has every chance of changing that and in fact, I had the originally picked to win their matchup with the Panthers. They have a big line and lots of returning players from last years playoff run. Salem just keeps on being Salem. They bring back eight offensive and 10 defensive starters and should be back to their normal level of performance. They will be a threat to win each game. The Liberty players and staff were very disappointed by their 2-8 because it came when the Eagles looked to be headed up. I think they get moving back in that direction again this year with senior QB Luke Yarber leading the offense. Ava will be better than their record will be as they have some tough teams lying in wait for them. But too many losses from last year push them down the standings. Willow Springs has lost 10 starters and only have 4 home games on the schedule this year. But could still upset someone along the way if they can get their younger players integrated quickly. And Houston will be improved, but so will be a number of teams on their schedule.
- Coach of the year - Darin Acklin, Liberty
- Offensive player of the year - Casey White, Mountain Grove
- Defensive player of the year - Brady Adams, Salem
