A dab of this, a pinch of that…

    Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

A veritable cornucopia of athletic treats today.  From baseball to soccer to tennis to golf.  Spring brings out the athlete in almost everyone.  The performer of the day is Walnut Grove’s Derrick Morris who had 15 Ks while also belting 3 doubles in a losing effort against Wheatland.  On the ladies side, we’ll tab Bolivar’s [...]

    The beautiful game, girls edition

    Monday, March 24th, 2008

In the spring, a young ladies fancy turns to…  soccer?  Yep.  At least for some girls in the Ozarks.  And we’ll bring you all the scores we can get.  But I’d be remiss if I didn’t encourage everyone to check out Springfield MO Soccer.  They are simply the best resource for all SW Mo soccer [...]

    Basketball year in review

    Friday, March 21st, 2008

Before we leave roundball totally behind until next fall, let’s take a look at the year that was.  The Ozarks enjoyed a good year overall although not as strong as some past years.  The Bolivar Lady Liberators & Skyline Lady Tigers take their places in local legend by bringing home state titles.  The Clever and [...]

    Thursday, March 20th, 2008

I’m putting together a list of area athletes who are playing professionally so we can track their progress.  And I’m asking for your help.  It’s easy to find players in the big 3  sports, but the Ozarks has representatives in others as well.  If you know of an Ozarks athlete still in the professional rank, drop us a [...]

Why Coach Towe’s firing is important

    Monday, March 17th, 2008

Discussion on the Randy Towe firing continues to burn hot.  This MoSports discussion thread shows a pretty accurate picture of the general thoughts out there.  Most people very upset that it happened and/or upset at the treatment of him.  Very few folks speaking in favor of it.  And they’re not making very convincing arguments when they do.  [...]
