The district as they stand today with this weeks results. I’ll wait until all the results are in before posting the full playoff schedule. CLASS 1 District 3
Champion – Thayer; 2nd – Miller Here’s the rundown of Saturday’s sectional and quarterfinal schedule. A number of local sites for folks to go catch some action. CLASS 1 At Billings High School
The playoff field is set as Willard claimed the last class 4 spot with a 25-14, 27-25 championship match win over Kickapoo. And Eminence goes to 33-3 on the year as they down a good Summersville squad 25-22, 25-22 to take the class 1 district 5 title. CLASS 1 District 5 at Southern
The Missouri finalists for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award have been named and the Ozarks are represented well. For those of you not familiar with the High School Heisman, it’s an award given annually to 1 male and 1 female athlete for excellence in academics, athletics, and community/school leadership. The Ozarks has a strong connection to the award as the first female winner in 1994 was Trisha Perry from Mansfield. 10 boys and 10 girls from across the state have been selected for consideration as the 2008 state winner. Of those 20 students, 5 call the Ozarks home. They are… To help everyone keep up with what’s going on, here’s the competitions going on to round out the fall season. And here we are. Week 10. A handful of teams are in. But most spots are up for grabs still. Can Willow Springs, Willard, and Reeds Spring get into the playoffs despite being winless when districts started? Can the undefeated teams (Webb City, Fair Grove, Monett) make it through their districts unscathed? Will any of the state-ranked teams be left sitting at home? The last week of the regular season is here. We’re less than a week from the playoffs baby! LET’S GET IT ON!!! Huge volleyball match in Branson tonight as state-ranked teams Ozark and Glendale met for the district championship. Top seed Ozark had to go three games to defeat Branson in the semi, and they looked a little tired in the first game for the final falling 25-18. But they got their second wind and the second game was a fantastic battle with the Lady Falcons finally prevailing and moving onto the sectional in Waynesville. Still waiting on the results from the Joplin district. Should have the entire bracket set by tomorrow morning for everyone. Don’t forget, sectionals and quarterfinals Saturday.
