Yes, it’s a cheesy list of New Years resolutions for this site. So if that kind of thing makes you violently ill, please don’t click the ‘Read the rest of this entry>>’ link. I don’t need any lawsuits. I’ve tried to make it fun and a bit informative, but I’ll understand if you have to pass. No hard feelings, I promise. Champions crowned tonight, Eminence wins the Cabool Holiday Tournament 59-49 over Thayer, Blue Eye takes the boys half of the Walnut Grove Holiday Classic 70-49 over Morrisville, while Couch downs Exeter 43-38 despite 24 pts from Whitney Edie to win the girls side. But Kickapoo comes up one game short falling to Lee’s Summit West 75-63 in the finals of the William Jewell Tournament Cardinal Division. The Nixa Lady Eagles will try to bring home the title of the KTXR Ladies Classic as they dominate Kickapoo and win 52-31. The Lady Chiefs were outrebounded by Nixa 40-15 as the Lady Eagles ruled the glass, the lane, and the game. Nixa will need all the inside help they can get as they will face the height of the Midwest City Bombers in the final. They claimed the spot opposite Nixa with a 50-34 win over Blue Springs. In the other area matchup, Fair Grove used their balanced attack to take a 59-41 win over Central and advance to the 5th place game against Notre Dame de Sion. 16th Annual KTXR Ladies Classic
Despite the seeds taking a beating overall, #1 & #2 will meet in the final as Ozark and Glendale cruise in the semis today. #1 Ozark dropped #4 West Plains by hitting a tournament record 14 threes and placing 5 players in double figures. #2 Glendale used a 10-2 run to build a 14 point lead at the start of the second half and maintained from there. Only 4 seeded teams make it to the final day with #8 Hillcrest, playing for 7th, joining Glendale, Ozark, and West Plains. Pink & White
The seeds hold up in the blue division as #1 Ozark outscores #2 Glendale 41-29 in the second half to win the Blue Division championship. Four Tigers scored in double figures, lead by Isaiah Monroe with 17, to more than offset the 25 points of Glendale’s Trey Starks. In the 3rd place game, Kaleb Roy of Aurora scored 23 to lead the Houn Dawgs past Clever. And Branson makes it a COC sweep downing Nixa 39-38. As they did throughout the tournament, Nixa made defense their focus but couldn’t get a score down the stretch to retake the lead. Central finishes the tourney in style shutting Mt. Vernon down in the 3rd quarter to come from behind and take 3rd in the Gold Division. Blue Division
