The Globe released their all-area girls basketball team this weekend. No real surprise that Exeter’s Whitney Edie was named player of the year. Exeter also swept the individual honors with coach Jason Cole taking coach of the year. Joining Edie on the 15 member first team are a future player of the year in Kaitlin Jaeger of Webb City, Edie’s likely successor next year in Miller’s Hannah Wilkerson, Jamie Nash of Aurora, Lorelei Snow & Kayln Vlasin of Neosho, underrated Jaimee Shields of McDonald County, Carthage’s Denise Taylor, and sophomore Shelby White of Purdy.
And things look bright for next year with 6 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 1 freshman ( Purdy’s Addy Roller) on the first and second teams. Congrats to all the honorees and we’ll see some of you on the courts next year.
