2/22 scores & district report

Kickapoo failed to defend the home court as both girls & boys teams were defeated by Ozark for their respective district championships. The Lady Tigers led by Courtney Gimlin’s 22 points & Bri Anton’s 20 downed the #1 seed Lady Chiefs 49-36. While the Chiefs surrendered a 19 point 3rd quarter lead when the Tigers went on runs of 13-2 and 10-2 to win the game 60-57. The Branson boys also booked their spot in the state tournament with a 62-53 win over Republic. And the Waynesville boys joined the Lady Tigers in the district 11 finals by defeating Hillcrest 66-46. Their opponent will be Glendale. The Falcons dispatched Central 62-57. In class 4 district 12 action, the #1 seed Carl Junction couldn’t overcome the loss of Tesia Lahm to a season-ending ACL tear, & despite 26 points from Mannie DeCastro, fell to McDonald County 52-47.
