2/23 district report

It’s all districts or better from here on out & lots of action from yesterday to talk about. Bolivar wins the huge rematch with Marshfield & ends the Lady Jays undefeated season in convincing fashion 65-55. The biggest difference versus the match-up earlier in the year was that Bolivar got balanced scoring in the second half & keep Marshfield from shutting them down. Crystal Guiot had 3 big 3 pointers in the 3rd period that helped increase Bolivars 31-24 lead. From there, the Lady Liberators hit their free throws to move on. Casey Garrison had 33 to lead Bolivar & Lacey Boshe had 24 & 9 rebounds for Marshfield. Every district decided yesterday in the Ozarks had the same school winning both boys & girls championships. In addition to Bolivar, the Branson girls finished off their half of the double yesterday. And Webb City & Waynesville won both sides yesterday to join Ozark in the double dip group. The Webb City/Carl Junction boys clash was one for the ages as the Cardinals overcame a 9 point late 3rd period deficit to pull out the game 65-62. Great shooting by the Bulldogs just wasn’t enough to upset the inside power & athleticism of Webb. And some girls districts from the lower classes kicked off yesterday to boot.
