2/27 district report

Only one #1 seed goes down tonight. In class 2 district 10 at Laquey, Newburg knocks off the top seed Stoutland 37-36 in overtime. The Lady Wolves will meet Richland, a 56-51 winner over the hosts Laquey Lady Hornets, Friday night for the championship. Mallory Stanley of Stockton is the big scorer of the night. She notched 32 points in leading the Lady Tigers to a 77-64 semi-final win over Versailles. And finally, I haven’t been able to find scores, but I wanted to report on Alton’s boys & girls playing in the class 3 district 2 meet at Greenville. The Comets lost in the first round to Clearwater. Again, no details available. And the Lady Comets beat Malden Saturday before falling to top seed Greenville on Monday.
