The last unbeaten team in the area, and possibly the state, finally falls as Branson, behind Timmy Townsend’s 14 strikeout, 2 hit pitching, downs Forsyth 3-1. Townsend held the Panthers scoreless until the 7th, but Forsyth couldn’t complete the comeback and falls to 18-1 on the year. In other action, Rolla splits a pair in Springfield beating Glendale 8-7, but getting edged by Parkview 3-0. And Cassville clinches the Big 8 title with an 8-2 decision over Mt. Vernon.
