It’s officially fall in the Ozarks. With the weather so nice and such a variety of athletic contests going one, there is no excuse for not getting out and catching some great softball, tennis, golf, or football. Or if you’re an indoor person, stay in an support your local volleyball or swimming team.
For example, last night we had boys soccer highlighted by a quartet of OC matchups. Kickapoo knocked off Parkview 2-0 while Glendale was downing Joplin 3-1. Girls tennis with the Springfield Invitational team title being won by Kickapoo by only 2.5 points over Glendale. Joplin’s Rachel Lazenby won the singles while only dropping one game the entire tournament. Her overall record now stands at 14-0 for the year. And indoors there was a plethora of volleyball with great 3 set matches being played between Glendale and Rogersville, and Joplin and Webb City. Glendale prevailed in a battle of state-ranked teams. While Webb City held off a scrappy Joplin club in the third after winning easily in the first. Then there was the Ozark Conference golf tournament, a number of softball games, plus swim meets that I can’t hardly keep up with. Whew! I’m glad it’s Wednesday.
