All-State baseball teams released
By Joboo | June 9, 2008
For any parents that are looking for their little baseball player to make the all-state team someday, I have two suggestions. Make sure their team makes it to the final four, or change their name to some variation of Zack.
The all-state team of all four classes were littered with players from the final four teams. In class 1, over half of the 19 first team selections, and a third of all selections, were from New Haven, Oran, Santa Fe, or Stoutland.
And be it Zach, Zach, Zac, or Zak, it appears that there was a 3 Zach minimum for each classification. From Zach Beringer to Zach Smith including the Zach Dady and Carl Junction’s Zak Porath, 3 Zachs appeared on each team. That’s right, we stop at nothing to bring you information you can use.
Area teams were represented well with 13 overall selections in class 1 including 6 from Stoutland. Conway and Morrisville both had 3 selections in class 2 with Ozarks teams getting 15 picks total. The 9 picks for the Ozarks in class 3 included 2 each from Webb City and Catholic. And Rolla had 4 selections to lead the short list of area teams included in the 11 selections on the class 4 team. Ozark and Lebanon both had 3 players named, with Kickapoo the only other area large school included.
Conspicuous by their absence are any players from Dora, Rogersville, Cassville, and Glendale. But overall, a fine showing from SW Mo. I’ll post the complete teams shortly. And congratulations to all our all-state baseball players.
