Area teams sweep Lions Club All-Star Classic

Both the Area boys & girls teams won in the 31st annual Lions Club All-Star Classic last night in Springfield. The girls, led by Casey Garrison’s 21 points, built a 15 point halftime lead and cruised to 71-44 win. Marshfield’s Lacey Boshe had 15 for the Area team. Alicia Garoutte of Kickapoo had 10 points to lead the City girls.
In the boys game the City boys had a 12 point halftime advantage. Dusty Allen of Kickapoo would but in 18 points and grab 8 boards to lead them. But the Area team fought back behind the double-double of Ozark’s Matt Jordan, and the shooting of Marc Neef of Spokane. With Neef hitting some absolute bombs to score 18 points, Jordan was grabbing 10 rebounds to go along with his 17 points. It added up to the Area team coming back to win 72-69.
