9/2/10 Scores

Big win tonight on the soccer pitch for Greenwood as the knock off last year’s class 2 runner up Bolivar 2-1.  Matt Magana registered a first half goal to give the Liberators a 1-0 halftime lead.  But Greenwood rallied in the second half shutting out Bolivar while getting the tying goal from Stuart Beezley.  Then Devon Whitlock came through with the game winner.  Nice early season win for the Blue Jays.

2010 All OzarksSports.Net Baseball Team

Ta da!!!   It’s the 2010 All-OzarksSports.Net Baseball Team.  Hooray!!  Yeah, I thought since school was about to start again, I needed to finish this off.  As always, I will tell you how I go about selecting the team.    And also as always, I’m positive I don’t have all the information on every player out there.  So I would be happy to discuss players I haven’t selected.  So here are my totally unscientific & highly flexible guidelines.  And if you think someone was left off, comment or drop me an email with some details.  Since it is my team, and I’m not above admitting a mistake, I’d love to hear about them and may even carve out a special place for them.

At the Barbershop – Post Fireworks Edition

Alright, I survived my last fireworks stand (hopefully), I have completed my summer vacation (San Antonio), and have a mini tour of Missouri on tap this weekend.  So while summer is still upon us, let’s go get a trim at the ol’ barbershop.

I do not consider myself a member of the media.  Yes, I have the website that you behold now.  Yes, I’ve made a few appearances on some radio shows.  But I would be delusional to think I am a media member.  Continue reading At the Barbershop – Post Fireworks Edition

2010 Media All-State Baseball

The media has announced their all-state teams.  22 area players were selected across all four classes.  14 of those on the first teams.  Branson and Liberal both had two first team pick.  Junior Mike Compton and senior Tee Helsel for the Pirates, sophomore Colton Selvey and junior Guillermo Rojo for Liberal.

Here’s the differences between the coaches & media teams.  We’re just comparing the first & second teams from the coaches as the media team has no honorable mention.  I’ve bolded those six players that were selected first team on one list, but not selected at all on the other.
