    Sectional football review

    Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

Great action last night in the state football sectional round.  The Battle of Barry County Part 2 did not disappoint as Cassville ends their rivals perfect season and title hopes.  Miller and Liberty make statements in defeat.  While Bolivar and Greenfield make their statements in victory.  Webb City looks like the team to beat.  And [...]

    Sectional football picks

    Monday, November 10th, 2008

The sectional round features a few rematches that should be very interesting with Miller @ Thayer, Cassville @ Monett, West Plains @ Farmington, and Neosho @ Webb City.  Even Lee’s Summit West @ Ozark is a rematch from last year’s playoffs.  Miller/Thayer isn’t the only meeting of state ranked team as #10 Liberty travels to [...]

    Regional football review

    Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Great start to the playoffs last night.  We’ll know where all the winners are bound after tonight.  Big shockers were Versailles knocking off Mountain Grove 14-10.  The Panthers were arguably playing as well as anyone in SW Mo the last 8 weeks of the season.  Neosho beating Carthage wasn’t a surprise, but the ease with [...]

    Week 10 state football rankings

    Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

The last regular season rankings are out and there is very little change again.  In fact the only change in the class 1 and 2 polls is that Liberty is no longer tied for tenth in class 2.  They now hold that position alone.  Undefeated Fair Grove is still number seven in class 2.
    In class [...]

    Regional football picks

    Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Enough talk. We all know the pros and cons of the new playoff system in minute detail now.  Let’s just play.  Let the playoffs begin.
    CLASS 1

    McAuley, 4-6 at Thayer, 8-1

Huge challenge for McAuley.  None of the 4 teams they beat this year won more than 2 games.  Meanwhile, Thayer is rolling.  Are they focused on [...]

    Week 10 review

    Monday, November 3rd, 2008

A great final week to the regular season with all the drama we’ve come to expect.  Familiar playoff faces Camdenton and Marionville are staying home.  Close bu no cigar for hopefuls Reeds Spring, Rolla, and Hillcrest.  Rematches and potential rematches are all over the place in the first two rounds.  And we end the regular [...]
