And the spring sports season is underway! Now some of you may be saying “Hold on Joboo. MSHSAA sports don’t start until the 23rd.” And you would be correct. But boys lacrosse is not a MSHSAA sponsored sport (girls lacrosse is, even though there are more boys lacrosse teams but that is a subject for another story) and therefore kicked off their season on the 7th. Here are the scores I have so far.

Received this in an email from a parent volunteer with the Springfield Falcons Lacrosse Club. “The team is holding a parent/player informational-sign up meeting this Thursday, Jan. 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the Springfield-Greene Co. Library Center, 4356 S. Campbell. The sport has developed a presence in the state and is growing [...] Catching up on some weekend action around the area. The Springfield Falcons run in the state playoffs was cut short as they fell to Clayton 10-6. The previous Saturday Springfield had beaten the Greyhounds 10-9 in St. Louis, but were unable to repeat the feat. Overall a fine season from the team. [...] That’s right, lacrosse.
