Prospect update – Paris Walkup

The subject of our first prospect profile, Liberty WR Paris Walkup, has signed a letter of intent with SBU in Bolivar.  An excellent student, Paris received both academic and athletic scholarships from the university.  Paris is pictured below with his parents and coach Darin Acklin at his signing.  Congratulations Paris.  And good luck.

Prospect profiles

With national signing day being tomorrow, we’re all going to hear a lot about local athletes signing to play for a variety of schools around the country.  But in talking with area coaches and parents, it’s obvious there is a level of frustration in trying to get athletes noticed by colleges and recruiters.  Some areas are covered well, but others not at all.

In reviewing the visits to this site, I’ve lost track of the number of hits from universities scattered all across the country.  And when you review the search terms from those hits, it becomes obvious that recruiters are among them.  They’re out there beating the bushes for hidden gems as much as those gems don’t want to be hidden anymore.
