OS.Net Question of the Week – 8/30/10

In the early going of every season, you get some shocking results.  Chaminade over Ralph Sampson’s Virginia team for instance.  But in no sport is it more pronounced than high school football.  Virtually all the teams start at the exact same time so instead of being eased into it, you get hit with all the stunners in rapid succession.  Such was the case again Friday night which gives us our question of the week.

5/17/10 Question of the Week Results

The people have spoken in record numbers.  And with incredible support from the towns of Houston & Lebanon, Kyle Poynter is the people’s choice for boys athlete of the year.  And all-state selection in basketball, and a likely all-state selection in baseball, comments & emails also pointed to Kyle’s character as a main reason for his support.  And we’re all about that at OzarksSports.  The senior took an astonishing 60% of the vote due to the deluge of votes from his local fans.

Coming in second was sophomore Doriel Green with 16%.  Green made all-state in both football & basketball, and is won three events at the class 4 sectional track & field meet this weekend.  A pair of under appreciated stars tie for third with Alex wise of Neosho & Travis Northern of Cassville both getting 6%.
