    The News-Leader published the preseason volleyball rankings yesterday before the start of the season.     Volleyball opened up and took center stage last night.  State ranked Rogersville opened their season with a straight set 25-22, 29-27 win over Kickapoo.  Callie Carroll and Sarah Powell combined for 23 digs for the Wildcats as they showed a strong defensive effort.  Soccer also had a soggy opening night.  A trio of one goal [...]

    Local letter of intent signees

    Yesterday was national signing day & a good number of area athletes put pen to paper to solidify their college futures.  Joplin & Webb City each had 6 football signees to lead the area.  If you know of anyone others from the Ozarks, let me know & I’ll add them to the list.

    State volleyball championships goin’ to Kansas City.

    The one big glaring omission from state championship host cities was addressed with the announcement yesterday by MSHSAA that Kansas City will host the state volleyball championships for 2008. Municipal Auditorium will the location through at least 2010.  The full announcement can be found here. Excerpts below.
