    Class 3 baseball semifinal update

    By Joboo | May 30, 2008

Webb City smashes their way into the class 3 baseball championship.  Chance Sossamon leads the way going 3 for 4 with 4 RBI and surrendering only 2 hits to Boonville.   The  Cardinals jumped out to an early lead scoring 2 in the first only to see Booneville answer with 3 runs via 2 Webb City errors in the bottom of the inning.  But that would be it for the Pirates.  In the top of the third, the Cards exploded for 9 runs to put the game away.  Sossamon highlighted the inning with an RBI double and a 2 RBI triple.  Webb City added 2 more in the fourth and 1 in the fifth to make the final score 14-3.  Webb City only gets 10 hits but drew 6 walks and had 3 hit batsmen.  They will face St. Dominic, who trailed Cape Girardeau Notre Dame 8-6 until a 19 run sixth inning ended the contest, at 1 PM tomorrow for the class 3 title.
