Football regional playoff schedule

Here we are folks. After all the excitement, the regional round is set. All games are on Wed Nov. 5th at 7 PM.
CLASS 1
- McAuley, 4-6 at Thayer, 8-1
- Miller, 9-1 at Lockwood, 5-5
- Appleton City, 6-4 at Greenfield, 9-1
Looking ahead, a possible sectional rematch of Miller and Thayer looms. And if Greenfield advances, they will face either Rich Hill, who they just defeated 13-6, or 9-1 Adrian at Greenfield. Also in this side of the bracket, 10-0 Tipton and 8-1 Hayti.
CLASS 2
- Strafford, 7-3 at Liberty, 8-2
- Houston, 6-4 at Fair Grove, 10-0
- Skyline, 6-4 at Lamar, 5-5
- Pierce City, 6-4 at Warsaw, 6-4
All kinds of interesting matchups here. The Strafford/Liberty rematch should be a great game. If Liberty can advance, they have home field for a possible meeting with Fair Grove in the sectional round. Lamar and Warsaw are two of the more underrated teams in the state and are looking at a possible second round clash. Whoever survives out of this group of 8 has 9-1 Carrollton, 9-1 Lawson, 9-1 Maryville, or undefeated Hogan Prep waiting for them.
CLASS 3
- Salem, 8-2 at Fulton, 8-2
- Rogersville, 7-3 at Osage, 6-4
- Versailles, 6-4 at Mountain Grove, 9-1
- Cassville, 7-3 at Mt. Vernon, 5-5
- Catholic, 4-6 at Monett, 10-0
Salem faces a tough test in Fulton, and them possibly Sullivan again if they advance. On the lower half of the bracket, all 3 10-0 teams reside. Monett, is joined by Holden and state #1 Chillicothe. Cassville has no gimme to set up a Monett rematch. Mt. Vernon has been playing much better the second half of the season. Likewise for Rogersville if they want another shot at Mountain Grove. Osage is led by former Mt. Vernon coach Dan Henderson and are 6-1 in their last 7 games.
CLASS 4
- West Plains, 3-7 at Festus, 6-4
- Willard, 2-8 at Union, 10-0
- Hillsboro, 3-7 at Bolivar, 9-1
- Carthage, 8-2 at Neosho, 7-3
- Branson, 8-2 at Webb City, 10-0
You want rematches? We got rematches. If Carthage/Neosho or Branson/Webb City, then the sectional match of whoever makes it through should. Willard’s reward for getting hot at the right time is a trip to visit Jordan Webb and 10-0 Union. The lower half of the bracket also includes undefeated Sedalia Smith-Cotton, 10-0 Kearney, and 8-2 Harrisonville. West Plains needs to keep on rolling to setup a match with either 8-2 DeSoto or another rematch with 8-2 Farmington.
CLASS 5
- Lebanon, 6-4 at Glendale, 4-6
Lebanon beat Glendale in the regular season, has a better record, and both are second in their districts. So of course the Yellowjackets have to travel. Yes, the class 5 playoff system is a mess. The winner here gets 9-1 Raymore Peculiar in the sectional. Waynesville gets a bye and a likely meeting with 10-0 Timberland and RB Montee Ball. Ozark gets a bye and the winner of Lee’s Summit West and 4-6 Truman.
