Girls state swimming & diving championships
By Joboo | February 18, 2008
The Glendale Lady Falcons gave it their all but it wasn’t enough to overcome Blue Springs for the team title. Glendale finished a distant second for their best state finish ever, scoring 206.5 to Blue Springs 328. Central finished a respectable 15th, with Webb City 21st, Kickapoo 23rd, & Marshfield & Ozark tying for 43rd. No individual or relay titles for the area, but a good number of strong finishes. With Glendale returning the majority of their team for next year, they should be able to challenge again. And they’ll have the state “Swim Coach of the Year” leading them as Jim Whytlaw was given the honor by his peers this year.
