Joplin Globe All-Area Baseball Team

The Globe released their All-Area Baseball team yesterday. In what has become a trend for the Globe, co-MVPs were named. Chance Sossamon of Webb City and Zak Porath of Carl Junction. Both deserving of such an honor, there’s not much statistically to split the two. I personally would have made Sossamon the outright winner for just this year. Coach of the year was Shawn Mayes of Webb City. Mayes guided his alma mater to a 24-6 record and second place state finish in his first year at the helm.  Congratulations to all.
