Joplin Globe all-area boys basketball team
By Joboo | April 21, 2008
Following up yesterday’s announcement of the girls team, the Joplin Globe today released their all-area boys basketball team. Co-MVPs were named as Webb City’s Landon Zerkel and Carl Junction’s Joe Fauvergue were tabbed for the honor. Tough to pick between those two as they were about as evenly matched as could be in every aspect. We’ll miss them both. Here’s the rest of the all-area team with Ozarks players bolded.

The Lions Club puts together a committee to pick the players & coaches. Not sure who exactly is on the committee though. Seniors are limited to only 2 all-star games so you’ll usually have someone you expect to play come up missing. For example, Zerkel in playing in the MBCA all-star game in Springfield. So he might be a casualty if there is another all-star game (the Gerald Pilz Classic for example) that he wants to play in. We should be getting an announcement any day on the rosters for the Lions Club game. And I’ll have it posted here as soon as it comes out.
