    By Joboo | June 12, 2008

The Midwest Nationals kick off their Nationals Classic today at Meador Park and Nixa High baseball field. It runs through Sunday. Games start at 1PM at both locations today with 4 games at Meador and 1 at Nixa. Friday and Saturday start times are 8:30 at Meador with 6 games to be played, and 4 games at Nixa starting at 10:45. Admission is free.

All three Nationals teams are off to solid starts this year with the Blue squad at 9-2, the Red at 7-4, and the White 6-0. They feature players from Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas this year. Obviously a good number of local players are on each team including recent all-state picks Ethan Mather of state champion Ozark, Tyler Hartley of Willard, Wichita State bound Chance Sossamon of Webb City, West Plains’ Seth Phegley, Joel Harrington & Kendall San Paolo of Catholic, Blue Eye’s David Gilley, & Mansfield’s Landon Jarrett.
