Congratulations to the MO Dream Team 14U girls who took second place at the Division 1 AAU Nationals in Salem, VA last week. The team is made up from players from Catholic, Glendale, & Kickapoo in Springfield as well as players from Branson, Mt. Vernon, Nixa, Ozark, & Verona. Jim Deines is the head coach and he’s assisted by Louis Carrasquillo.
The Dream Team went undefeated in pool play winning their three games against teams from Wisconsin, Louisiana, & Virginia by a combined 56 points. They then downed teams from Alabama, Virginia, & Maryland to reach the finals where they were finally dropped by an Indiana squad. A great run from these young ladies & I’m sure we’ll be hearing more from them in the coming years.
