Mornings with Mike Edwards in the Afternoon

    By Joboo | November 7, 2008

You folks know I don’t plug things that aren’t really great.  I’m not in this to suck up to people, make money, win awards, get a new job, or pave the way for a possible run at the governor’s office.  Although I wouldn’t object to 3 of those 5 things.  You can ponder which 3.

No, I do this because I love high school sports and the Ozarks.  And I know many of you feel the same way.  So as one Ozarks sports fan to another, I encourage you to check out Mike Edwards new show Mornings with Mike Edwards in the Afternoon Monday through Friday, 2 to 4 PM on the Jock 98.7.

Mike is no stranger to the Ozarks.  He’s been around for a few years in Ozarks radio and has even done morning shows before.  He also has a good deal of experience in the local sports scene.  Now he’s brought all that together for his afternoon show that focuses on local sports and sports figures.  Not just scores and commentary like this old blog, he gets into the personalities of his guests and covers stories that you don’t hear about in other areas.  Such as his interview with Coach Kevin Ropke who is starting the football program at Hollister. He also is starting, this coming Tuesday, his A to Z Segment where he profiles a different Ozarks town every Tuesday and Thursday.

The few times that I’ve been able to listen, the show has been fantastic.  Mike is a great interviewer, has an excellent delivery and on-air presence, and he gives out the kind of things that interest me as an Ozarks sports fan.  I know it’s not the best time for those of us with 8 to 5 jobs, but if you get a chance, it is well worth tuning in.  And if after listening you feel like sending me a nominal finders fee…   Well, bless your heart.
