State quarterfinal soccer results
By Joboo | May 24, 2008
Both remaining area teams faced tough tasks today in the state girls soccer quarterfinals. Glendale faced perennial power and seven time state champion Incarnate Word Academy. While Catholic was charged with taking down the defending state champions St. Dominic, featuring a senior class looking to make their third trip to the final four. In the end, both teams came up short in their quests. Glendale fell by a 5-0 score in their match at Missouri S&T. While in Columbia, St. Dominic defeated the Lady Irish by a 2-0 score.
So ends an exciting girls soccer season in the Ozarks. Next year will see many changes as Missouri goes to 3 classes for girls soccer, and a number of new girls programs start up. Don’t forget, you have one last chance to see off the graduating seniors in the Southwest Missouri All-Star Games. Go out and show your appreciation for this fine group of student athletes.
