8:00 PM - Sorry for the lateness of the update. Had a soccer practice to go to. Kickapoo breaks through on the Angels, but only in one game as they fall in the finals 5-1. Mackenzie and Carlee Rozell win their doubles match in 3 sets to claim a point for the Lady Chiefs, but that’s all. Still a great finish to the season for Kickapoo as they finish as state runner-up. We’ll be back tomorrow with the first rounds of singles play.
4:50 PM - Still waiting on the results of the final, but if you’re looking for a good omen, Park Hill won third place 5-0 over Marquette. And in the catagory of the rich get richer, Notre Dame de Sion, who just won a girls golf championship, won the class 1 competition.
1:00 PM – The Angels present a formidable challenge for Kickapoo. Their one loss on the year came to class 1 semifinalist MICDS 5-4. They avenged that loss with a 6-1 thumping of the Lady Rams just a week ago. So far in the state tournament, they have yet to drop a single game defeating Kirkwood, Jackson, Lafayette, and now Marquette by 5-0 scores.
12:40 PM – Kickapoo is in the final. They defeat Park Hill 5-3 to advance to the state championship match. The difference is singles as Mackenzie Rozell, Carlee Rozell, Lindsey Gray, and Annie Armstrong all win. Gray & Danielle Benson provide the last point in doubles winning 6-3, 6-4. We’ll post the results of the finals later today.
11:40 AM – St. Joseph’s Academy has claimed the first spot in the class 2 final. They downed Marquette 5-0 sweeping the doubles matches before finishing it off in singles. Still awaiting word on Kickapoo/Park Hill.
It’s the girls state tennis championships from Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield! Today we have the team titles being contested. The only area participant, Kickapoo, is playing right now. They’re facing Park Hill in one semifinal, hoping to advance and face the winner of St. Joseph’s Academy/Marquette for the championship later today. I’ll update this post with the results once the match is final.

soccer practice?
Absolutely. My son plays and I help with the team. Gotta keep those Cassville Wildcats supplied with good players.
