State track & field updates
By Joboo | May 23, 2008
3:35 PM - No more state champions to report yet, but all-state placements in the girls class 3 and 4 1600M, the class 3 girls long jump, and the class 4 boys triple jump.
2:00 PM - Still early in the first day but SW Mo has already registered a pair of state champions. In class 3 boys, Zach Thompson of Willard takes first with a throw of 165′ 4″. Kord Stancell of McDonald County was right behind in second, while Billy Wright of Cassville placed 7th. And in class 4 boys, Kickapoo won the 4X800M relay. Ozarks athletes have also placed in class 4 boys high jump, class 3 boys pole vault & 4X800M relay, and class 4 girls shot put.
Noon - For those who want to be fully informed, the News-Leader has an article today on a number of area participants at the state meet that includes, as a sidebar, a full list of area qualifiers for state listed by school.
11:50 AM - The final 2 days of state track & field competition are underway today in Jefferson City. Class 3 & 4 have the field this weekend. We have a number of strong competitors & teams with a great chance at state medals. I’ll be updating the individual results as they become available, and team standings at the end of the day.
