Scores, Scores, and More Scores

Greetings from the Motor City.  For those of you who are interested, it’s Wisconsin vs. Boston College tonight for the national championship.

But closer to home, Cassville’s Travis Northern continues his scoreless inning streak to start the year.  It’s now 14 innings, as he throws 5 scoreless last night in the Wildcats 11-0 win over Reeds Spring.  Bo Blisard went 3 for 3 with a homer and 5 RBI to lead the offense.  Liberal remains undefeated with 10-0 win over St. Paul Kansas Thursday.  And the Red & Blue tournament is in full swing in Springfield.

Class 3 Show-Me Bowl Review & Analysis

Many times at the end of the season, the team that ends up #1 has people question them.  Usually by using ‘IFs’.  For example, statements like this were made about last Cassville state title run last year.  IF they hadn’t changed the playoff system, they wouldn’t have even made it.  IF Harrisonville was still in class 3 they wouldn’t have won.  IF Chillicothe hadn’t missed that extra point, they would have won instead.  Some people might say that IF Centrailia hadn’t lost to Brentwood, they would have beat Maryville in the championship.  Sometimes the ‘IFs’ are true statements, but they’ alsore in the past and can’t be changed.  But to some people, they will always leave a question mark on a teams accomplishments.
