2009 Season Opening Tournaments

The first full week of the season has become a haven for tournaments in the Ozarks.  Here’s all the tourney info that I have right now.  I’ll add more as I get it.

BOYS

Frisco League Tournament at Laquey High School

  • Saturday – 11/28
    • 5 PM – #8 Licking vs #9 Crocker
    • 6:30 PM – #4 Plato vs #5 Iberia
  • Tuesday – 12/1
    • 5 PM – #1 Stoutland vs winner of Licking/Crocker
    • 6:30 PM – #2 Laquey vs #7 Richland
    • 8 PM – #3 Dixon vs #6 Newburg

All this and I still can’t find scores on the Frisco League boys tournament, the consolation round of the Kickapoo Tip-Off Classic, etc.  I had high hopes for the News-Leader’s online system, but results from basketball coaches have been mixed at best.  Let’s keep hoping, and I’ll do my best to bring you everything I can find.

Carl Junction Girls Classic

Hoops season opened for real last night with girls games all over the place.  Verona’s Jenna Chadd made the biggest statement scoring 38 points including eight 3s in Verona’s 81-27 win over Niangua.  Branson wins an early matchup of girls contenders 57-55 over Parkview.  And after opening with a nice win over Morrisville on Saturday, Fair Grove lays a 60 point victory on Reeds Spring 80-20.
