Many times at the end of the season, the team that ends up #1 has people question them. Usually by using ‘IFs’. For example, statements like this were made about last Cassville state title run last year. IF they hadn’t changed the playoff system, they wouldn’t have even made it. IF Harrisonville was still in class 3 they wouldn’t have won. IF Chillicothe hadn’t missed that extra point, they would have won instead. Some people might say that IF Centrailia hadn’t lost to Brentwood, they would have beat Maryville in the championship. Sometimes the ‘IFs’ are true statements, but they’ alsore in the past and can’t be changed. But to some people, they will always leave a question mark on a teams accomplishments.

Cassville wins back to back state titles with a 24-7 win over previously undefeated Bowling Green. I’ll have a full recap & analysis tomorrow. I know that many of you would love to crown Cassville state champions right now. After going through Seneca, Rogersville, and KC O’Hara, they’ve done enough to deserve it. But there’s still one game left to play. And it’s against a team that deserves to be mentioned with those three. So let’s take a few moments to get to know Cassville’s opponent, and break down what we may see in St. Louis on Saturday. Bowling Green Bobcats

CLASS 3 Cassville 23, KC O’Hara 7 O’Hara scored in the second to [...] And here we are. The last step on the road to the Dome. Lamar has made their first semifinal. Can they take the next step like Cassville did last year? The Wildcats went all the way as an underdog in 2008. Can they repeat as the front runner? Webb City brought an end to Kearney’s quest for a perfect season a year ago. Can they withstand a Bulldog squad bent on revenge? With Clark County’s loss last Saturday, Cassville and Webb City have the longest playoff winning streaks at 8 games. Can they both go back to back? And can the Big 8 put two teams in the big game?
