The first full week of the season has become a haven for tournaments in the Ozarks. Here’s all the tourney info that I have right now. I’ll add more as I get it. BOYS Frisco League Tournament at Laquey High School
Whew! Back to it after an exhausting weekend. I will be getting the rest of my baseball previews posted this week. Sorry for the delay. The real job pays the bills and takes precedence. Opening day of spring sports today and here’s what went on. BASEBALL Lamar Baseball Classic Purdy 5, Liberal 2 Purdy: Mason Roller – W, 6 IP, [...] Here we are just a week into the basketball season and we already see why we don’t play the games on paper. Judging by the first two rounds of the Ozark Tournament, you would have thought Nixa was unstoppable. But Ozark made them look anything but as the down the Lady Eagles 54-39 to win their 5th straght championship. We had crowned Aurora queens of the Big 8. But there they were last night playing for third in their tournament as the team that dropped them, Mt. Vernon was being defeated by Republic 51-35. And in Carthage, the host team used a stong zone defense to shut down Kaitlin Jaeger and defeat Webb City 57-49 for the championship. Looks like we have an exciting season ahead of us.
