Class 3 volleyball preview

Five different class 3 teams saw time in the state’s top 10 in 2008.  Mountain Grove, Mt. Vernon, Reeds Spring, Republic, and Rogersville all were recognized.  And East Newton finished the season 27-4-1.  It culminated with Rogersville advancing all the way to the championship match before finally falling to KC O’Hara in two games.

A lot of talent has moved on from those teams.  The result is that some new faces will make an impact in 2009, but some of the same teams will be heard from again.  And the potential for a slightly deeper run in the postseason exists for at least one squad.
