Semifinals in two class 3 districts last night. Both #1 seeds move on as Camdenton defeats Washington 3-0 in district 10, and Joplin drops Central 8-0 in district 12. Around the horn last night Verona defeated Clever in a battle of small school volleyball contenders 2-1. The Lady Wildcats won the first set 25-18 only to see Clever tie the match 25-19 in the second. But Verona battled back in the third 25-18 to take the win.
In a clash of state-ranked teams, class 4 #5 Glendale downed class 3 #9 Republic in straight sets 25-14, 26-24 as Olivia Brand lead the way with 16 kills.
On the soccer pitch, a couple of golden goals last night with Nixa’s KhaiUyen Huynh scoring the in the overtime period to help the Eagles down Joplin 2-1. And Webb City had to go to the second extra period, but dropped Willard 3-2.
And Hannah Harman keeps mowing them down faster than a brand new Snapper riding mower as she fanned 17 in Walnut Grove’s 8-0 win over Halfway.
