SCA All-Conference Basketball

Ava almost sweeps the major post-season awards in the SCA as Kayla Dooms wins girls player of the year, Mark Wendler is named girls coach of the year, and Cole Dishman gets boys coach of the year.  Only Houston’s Kyle Poynter breaks the Ava bloc as the Tiger scoring machine is picked boys player of the year.

At the Barbershop - 2/5/10

Feeling sick for two weeks can leave you a lot of time to think.  And since my mind is going 100 miles an hour on a normal day, the last thing I need is time to think.  Lewis Black once hypothesized that hearing the dumbest thing he’d ever heard could be the possible cause of an aneurysm.  Now I’m not saying that one of my thoughts may be the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard.  But with a wife and two children that I’d still like to spend a few more years with, I’m not taking any chances.  We’re taking a trip to the barbershop so I can purge myself of potentially lethal thoughts.  If one of them causes you to have an aneurysm, I apologize.  But I don’t think you can prove anything.

Tourneys tourneys everywhere

Champions crowned tonight, Eminence wins the Cabool Holiday Tournament 59-49 over Thayer, Blue Eye takes the boys half of the Walnut Grove Holiday Classic 70-49 over Morrisville, while Couch downs Exeter 43-38 despite 24 pts from Whitney Edie to win the girls side.  But Kickapoo comes up one game short falling to Lee’s Summit West 75-63 in the finals of the William Jewell Tournament Cardinal Division.  The 35 points of West’s Mizzou signee Mike Dixon relegated the Chiefs to second.
