2:25 – And it’s a final. Catholic knocks off the #1 team in the state 3-0 and moves on to the state championship game tomorrow at 4 o’clock. Awaiting them in the final will be either KC St. Pius X who they defeated in last years third place game, or Whitfield who has won five [...] Kickapoo is eliminated from the state tournament today as Helias drops them 1-0 at Waynesville. CLASS 3 Helias 1, Kickapoo 0 Catholic & Bolivar booked their spots in the final four yesterday. Catholic’s David Bailey registered a hat trick (all in the second half) to give the Irish more than enough on the board to down Crocker and earn their second straight trip to St. Louis. Catholic wins third place with a thumping 4-0 victory over KC St. Pius X. Shelby Hatz scored a pair in the second half after Andrea Parker scored the game winner 20 minutes in. Natalie Smid also hit the back of the net [...] Both area teams had a rough time yesterday in St. Louis, with both Catholic & Glendale falling in the semis. Catholic played a solid game but was done in by a couple of good goals and great goal tending from Trinity Catholic keeper Taylor Zerbe.
