SCA All-Conference Basketball

Ava almost sweeps the major post-season awards in the SCA as Kayla Dooms wins girls player of the year, Mark Wendler is named girls coach of the year, and Cole Dishman gets boys coach of the year.  Only Houston’s Kyle Poynter breaks the Ava bloc as the Tiger scoring machine is picked boys player of the year.

SCA All-Conference Football Team

The coaches South Central Association all-conference football team has been announced.  Liberty’s Darin Acklin, whose Eagles made the deepest run into the playoffs, was named Coach of the Year.  His QB Luke Yarber was selected as the Back of the Year.  And Mountain Grove DE Cody Bryant got the nod as Lineman of the Year.  4 out of the 7 SCA teams made the state playoffs this year with 3 of those teams being ranked in the final regular season rankings.  A fine year overall for the SCA.  Thanks to Coach Acklin for sending the info along and congratulations to all the honorees
