I honestly was reluctant to even post this as I just didn’t know what to say. So I’ll keep it simple with just three things. The News-Leader released their 2008 All-Ozarks boy soccer team Saturday. A number of district finals tonight to setup the state tournament. Here’s the results at the moment. CLASS 1 District 6 at Cooper Soccer Fields
CLASS 2 District 5 at Bolivar Continue reading Thursday district soccer championships A trio of rivalry games last night in district soccer action. In class 3, Ozark downed Nixa 3-2 to move to the finals of district 11 play. Cassville and Monett met for the fourth time this year in a class 2 district 5 semifinal. For the first time Cassville comes out the winner 2-1 on a Bryan Schroeder goal in the 76th minute. While in class 1 district 6, Springfield rivals Greenwood and New Covenant matched up. Greenwood wins this one 4-0 to grab a spot in the district title game. District soccer got under way this weekend with class 1 district 6 and class 2 district 5 action. Aurora and Laquey won Friday games to start the weekend. Aurora then had to face top seed Bolivar and put up a game fight before falling 2-0. Monett and Greenwood both go for double digits in their district openers. Games resume Monday in all classes. We’re down to just soccer and swimming that are still in their regular seasons for the fall sports. And this is the last week of soccer. Still some big games across the area last night. Kickapoo and Glendale faced off for a second time this year. This time with both teams being ranked in the state top 10. The Chiefs won the first match and on Brock Ruggeri goal in the 53rd, they win this one also 2-1. Greenwood made a Stuart Beezley goal in the first half stand up and beat Willard 1-0. And a pair of 10 spots as Nixa beats Central 10-0, while Cassville gets 6 goals from Uziel Franco to down College Heights 10-0. SOCCER Varsity
Action from a soggy Thursday night around the Ozarks. Rogersville wins a matchup of state ranked volleyball teams downing Mountain Grove in straight sets.
