Tennis anyone?

One sport that has been neglected terribly with the flurry of sports activity the last couple of weeks has been tennis. The boys are ready to complete their season with the team semi-finals and finals tomorrow at Cooper Tennis Complex. One local teams remains as defending class 1 state champion Thomas Jefferson has been dominant so far. They are yet to drop a single match in their 3 contests. They face a 9-8 Clayton squad tomorrow for a berth in the championship round. Here’s a recap of all the state tourney action so far. I’ll be back later today with a list of the individual and doubles qualifiers from the area.
CLASS 1
5/13 - Regionals
- Thomas Jefferson 5, Mt. Vernon 0: Mt. Vernon ends the season at 5-9
- West Plains 6, Rogersville 1: Rogersville ends the season at 7-6
- Forsyth 5, Branson 4: Branson ends the season at 4-8
- Webb City 5, Catholic 0: Catholic ends the season at 5-6
5/17 - Sectionals
- Thomas Jefferson 5, West Plains 0: West Plains ends the season at 9-3
- Webb City 5, Forsyth 0: Forsyth ends the season at 13-3
5/17 - Quarterfinals
- Thomas Jefferson 6, Webb City 0: Webb City ends the season at 13-3
