Two weeks ago, Ozark needed a furious last inning rally to defeat Kickapoo 13-12 as they scord 5 in the 7th. They again put up a 5 spot last night as they met the Chiefs in the sectional round of the state tournament, but this time, that would be more than enough as the Tigers won 10-3. Ozark next faces last year’s state runner-up Holt on Thursday with ace Tim Mather slated to start.
Rogersville’s Chris Sartin held Clinton to only 1 hit, struck out 8, and walked only 1 in a 3-0 Wildcat victory that lasted only 75 minutes. Their next game should be more challenging as they face Chance Sossamon and the Webb City Cardinals, 4-2 winners over Branson last night in a game where they only managed 3 hits. But Sossamon only allowed 4 hits himself, and the Cardinals made the most of their chances.
