    Week 1 football rankings

    By Joboo | September 3, 2008

After a great first week, the Associated Press state football rankings show a little change but still pretty stable.

No area representatives in classes 5 & 6 after Waynesville fell out of a tie for number 5 in class 5. In fact no one is even receiving any votes. Carthage is still number 2 in class 4 and received one first place vote. Webb City replaces the team they beat, Harrisonville, at number 3 and has one first place vote of their own. In class 3, Monett solidified their hold on number 1 by grabbing 10 of 12 first place votes. Seven more than in the pre-season poll. The Mountain Grove Panthers move up a spot to number 4 while Cassville is still receiving votes. The Ozarks gets it’s first class 2 representative of the year as Fair Grove, off a great showing against Buffalo, moves into the poll at number 10. And in class 1, Thayer is still number 2. Miller replaces Cabool at number 4 but the Bulldogs are still garnering some votes.

Here’s a link to the whole poll as seen on KY3.
