Week 9 state football rankings
By Joboo | October 29, 2008
If it wasn’t for class 3 in the state football rankings, it would be pretty boring. But we do have class 3 and this week we have a new number one team. Chillicothe gains a first place vote and moves one point ahead of Monett. The Cubs have the same number of points as last week meaning one person moved them from first to second. But another voter moved them from third to second. If you’re looking down the road toward a possible meeting of these two, it would be in the state semi-finals.
Also in class 3, Mountain Grove’s impressive play continues to move them up the state polls as they now sit at number four. And despite the close loss to Sullivan, Salem maintains the same number of votes this week.
No change whatsoever in the class 1 poll. Thayer at four, Miller at seven, and Greenfield knocking on the door. Greenfield gets a last chance to impress this week as they take on 8-1 Rich Hill.
Same song second verse for the class 4 poll. Webb City is still number three with one first place vote. Carthage at number 10.
But we do have a nice change in class 2. Fair Grove remains slotted at number seven at the top 8 teams have 3 losses between them. But the Liberty Eagles have broken through coming in at number 10 this week. They’re tied with Monroe City for the final spot.
