    Weekend roundup

    By Joboo | January 28, 2008

From a buzzer beater from beyond half court to a championship game forfeited, we saw some strange things this weekend.  Republic claimed the championship of the Rogersville Tournament despite recording 1 basket in the 4th quarter, a desperation heave from beyond half court by Trenton Lafoon.  This came after the Tigers held the ball near half court for 4 minutes protecting a 2 point lead while Rogersville sat back in a zone defense.  And in Jenks, OK the championship of the Jenks Invitational was decided by the flu bug as the Kickapoo ladies could only field 5 healthy players & forfeited the match.  Central got 29 points from Thomas Chadwick to win the NEO tournament in Miami, OK.  And in swimming, Deanna Sorenson continued to look strong in leading Glendale to the championship of the Springfield Invitational over Parkway South.
